While the ways in which we engage with audiences in the online space may be constantly changing, the one insight to emerge from our time working with start-ups and small businesses is that social media isn’t everything – yes, really! Social media is but one element of marketing a business. To get it right, you need to create a brand that delivers consistent and creative messaging across all platforms and a website with powerful content (and that means images as much as words) that tells your story perfectly. Events, product launches, workshops or celebrations can also serve as an important component of this marketing mix.

There is of course nothing like the hands-on experience of running our own business, pitfalls and all, to provide us with an empathetic understanding of the needs of business owners. We absolutely ‘get’ that start-ups and small businesses don’t have limitless funds to market their business, Since clients deal with just one person and no studio overheads it enables us to keep costs down, while my extensive network of marketing experts allows clients to access a wider range of services if and when required, such as photographers, videographers, SEO specialists etc.

We genuinely love what we do. Helping budding entrepreneurs and struggling businesses find their feet is reason enough to get out of bed each morning and nothing gives us more of a buzz than to sit down and find out exactly what clients want to achieve and to offer an effective marketing solution well within your budget.

Debbie

With 25+ years in marketing & events management, I can support you in the marketing maze. I unscramble the marketing jargon, take the fear out of using the marketing tools and platforms to grow your brand. We’ll make sure your website (your shop window) is looking good and working to it’s optimum and attracting new clients.

I keep the drama of your event where you want it – wowing your audience, not reducing you and your team to nervous wrecks! Getting it wrong can be costly and I am all about making your money deliver results, quickly and efficiently. I’ve organised them all – huge wedding fairs, business expos and product launches and worked as a wedding planner & conference manager. My Little Black Book of contacts and suppliers has an answer to anything!

I’m a great believer in seeing the big picture and in not over-complicating the strategy for getting a client from their current state A to a desired state B, which is where the value of having an outsider with a bird’s eye view of the marketing maze comes into its own. Having navigated every path with many clients, I can safely guide you through it.

I started working for Queen Bee & Co in 2023, after retraining as a web designer. However, I’ve been partner (now husband) to the Queen Bee, Debbie, for nearly 19 years!

I support Debbie with many aspects of Queen Bee and Co, and you’ll see me at some of the ‘In The Hive’ networking events, but my primary focus is on the website design aspect of the business. If you have a website you’re not happy with, or you need a brand new website, then please contact me and I’ll be delighted to help. I also specialise in hand drawn logos. Bespoke logos can really make your business stand out from the crowd.

I’m also an artist, specialising in wildlife and pet portraiture. If you have a beloved pet you would like a portrait of, then give me a call. Portraits make wonderful, unique presents so if you have a special occasion round the corner then let me know and I can produce a portrait that will last a lifetime. Meet Teddy – Chief Morale Officer & Office Good Boy

Every great team needs a leader… and then there’s Teddy. Our four-legged, tail-wagging, snack-loving office superstar.

Teddy takes his role very seriously. Whether it’s reminding us to take a break (usually for a walk, sometimes for belly rubs), ensuring we get our daily dose of fresh air, or simply boosting team spirit with his signature puppy-dog eyes.

They say walking fuels creativity and thanks to Teddy’s commitment to his “walkies policy,” our team stays sharp, inspired and always on the move.

So if you ever hear the pitter-patter of paws on the office floor, rest assured, Teddy’s just making sure we’re all doing our best work.

The speakers were all great and lovely people, each with really interesting talks. The food was also excellent and speaking for myself, I was very comfortable.
